HOUSE of PAINTERS Vaughan
You probably haven't painted in years, maybe you never have, but if you are thinking about it, do not take it lightly. Consider that of most of the home service trades, painting brings less technical, but more creativity to the project. Painting is a practiced skill that comes from working on scores of surfaces over time and exacting lines and brush strokes are the expectation of any completed paint job. We are not comparing ourselves to Rembrandt masterpieces but he may have missed a line or two but that's just an opinion. We take our skills pretty seriously when practicing our trade. If you've ever painted and accidentally wiped your pristine ceiling with a ruby red paint, you have a pretty fair idea of what we're saying. House Painters Vaughan is a professional house painting company, and we've covered a lot of walls. We're really, really good painting. We never expect final payment until you are happy with the results. You'll get a job well done when you rely on us. However, if you are destined to paint your own place, you can read our do-it-yourself painting just below.
Leave the work to us pros. Us pros will not:
- Talk like painting is a miracle and hard to understand.
- Hurry your decision making, we will listen and help.
- Pressure you in any way. If you aren't ready, we'll happily wait for your call.
- Charge you an arm and a leg or any other appendage.
- Disappear mid-way through the job.
- Be bothered by nitpicking as we're perfectionists, too!
- Leave your house looking like a stag was held last night.
INTERIOR HOUSE PAINTING
House of Painters is your premier interior wall painting company in Vaughan. We take an invitation into someone's home as a great privilege that will always be respected. It is estimated that most people spend as much as 80% of their time in their homes, something we should always be aware of when selecting colours and finishes for renovating / decorating. When you are contemplating interior painting, size and number of rooms or color changes, which can add priming time, repairs, paint quality are top of the list considerations. We are think of these items when we write up our detailed cost estimate. Color selection and applicable paint finishes (flat, semi-gloss, eggshell and more reflective glossy finishes) for the smaller room, are always a bit stressful. If you find yourself over-whelmed by the process, our experts will be happy to pick you up and get you over the finish line. Painting a lot means you get to know a thing or two about fixing and re-covering walls.
Nail pops need repair; water damage parts need to be remediated and drywall flaws need to be perfectly smooth. We do all that, and more such as filling with latex caulking and be applied as needed. Edges and trim are meticulously cared for, and we will replace any damaged areas. Read more info on Interior Painting.
EXTERIOR HOUSE PAINTING
Southern Ontario brings challenging climate issues and can be brutal on painted surfaces with fluctuations from extreme heat to frigid January temps. Long lasting new coats of paint begin with proper preparation under proper conditions. Where interior walls are not usually requiring a primer unless stark color changes are being implemented, exterior paint should only be applied when walls have been well conditioned, (thoroughly cleaned), properly abraded where necessary, and primed for lasting adhesion. Exterior surfaces have far more diverse surfaces ranging from stucco, aluminum and vinyl siding, trims and doors of varying finishes and metal windows, drains, troughs and soffits. We feel comfortable with all surfaces and will leave you with a lasting exterior paint job. .
Interior painting happens year round since chances of rain are unlikely, while on the other hand, exterior paint contracting must be planned around the seasons and the weather. Too cold and we can't paint. Exterior paint is designed to set at minimum temps, usually around 10 degrees for proper adhesion and there should be no looming storms. Weather forecasts are important to us when we are planning to paint outdoors; we won't risk a applying an exterior finish in uncertain conditions. We have seen homeowners requiring exterior surfaces repainted as early as the following year because surfaces were improperly prepared either by a painting company from before, (or the DIY'er?), or the weather conditions were not acceptable, especially in the spring and fall when daytime temperatures didn't get up there, ideally between 10° and 29° with calm winds. It should be noted that some new paints are working well with applications in temps as low as 5 degrees.
In addition to ideal conditions, we use the highest quality materials and mixtures to ensure a lasting new finish that will be protected from the elements! Curb appeal is important to us all so why not do the best exterior work possible to hold up to the nasty weather Ontario throws our way. Our painting company will provide long-lasting, quality workmanship, and we'll go easy on your wallet whether its a total makeover for the house or just simple touch-ups. We believe that quality paints should still look vibrant after eight to ten years depending on severity of the weather. Read more info on Exterior house painting.

OUR COMPLETE SERVICES
DIY or professional painters of Vaughan
Even though you are visiting our site (enjoying it we hope), you might be thinking of giving it a go at doing your own home painting. We admire anyone who wants to take a shot at some of their own interior or exterior painting. However, take a moment to consider the pitfalls that can plague the daring artist; that painting is a precise skill that comes with practice over the years.
There is every reason to believe that painting done by the home-owner can be acceptable, or even better than acceptable. Try picking a spot in a room and do some practicing before the entire house is tackled. It's not difficult to imagine a great job with straight lines; smoothly stroked and non-beading, non-wavy painted walls. If you're up to it... go for it.
Most paint projects are reverse-able and fixable, although there is generally a cost to having to redo work. Even the pros have to back-track sometimes. DIY painting can be terribly time consuming; and repairs can crop up so this should be part of any consideration for doing it yourself.
Take time to learn through on-line videos
Okay, so the urge to do your own work has taken hold; we are here to tell you that there are numerous blogs and videos on how to do-it-yourself on line within the home service area. There are enough 'how-to-diy' to illustrate how to build an entire house. For home painting you can focus on learning how to repair nail pops where screws have become exposed, and water damage remediation on drywall, (usually needs cutting out and replaced), are a couple of examples. With drywall, even the slightest imperfections will come through after painting if not properly filled and sanded; poor repairs will definitely be evident.
When you are setting up to paint - cost of tools; time spent; and the patience and skill to make a wall paint-ready smooth needs your full consideration. Just in case you need it, we have some excellent do-it-yourself tips on painting and wall papering. We aren't kidding when we say, "If you have successfully done this work without flaw please call us right away and apply

Eco-friendly paint and products
Volatile organic compounds, or VOC’s, can usually be detected by the familiar odors you've come to know over the years given off by gasoline, some paints, even the new car smell can be attributed to VOC’s. The VOC’s vaporize when paint is applied as will other manufactured substances; they can be potentially harmful to both humans and our environment.
Breathing problems have been linked to the vapor as have headaches, burning and watery eyes, and nausea. Home Painters Vaughan is very aware and concerned about VOC’s impact on your health, and is committed to offering low VOC, and VOC-free paint options. Vaporized pollutants can get trapped in low-airflow rooms, so we recommend the VOC products.
Did you know about paint updates?
Paint manufacturing companies are developing wider arrays of colours and paint finishes on an ongoing basis. We always think of bright colours and earth tones when we think of paint, but whites and off whites continue to lead the way as the most popular shade for interior painting refinishes. Hints of gray whites, subtle blue whites to earthy whites, delicate and refined finishes permit decoration choices to shine through, even accentuating the architectural strength of a room.
When it's time to begin selecting the final colors, the finish you opt for (flat paint, satin finish, eggshell finish, semi gloss and high gloss finish) will help determine your final color choice.
The quality of paint plays a role in how a room finishes up. Different brands, different qualities, different prices. You can imagine that higher quality paints will likely be truer in tone and finishes may last longer. Reflective finishes can vary as well.
Remember when you are considering the final colour of your wall to consider the finish texture. Light is absorbed by flat paints and will influence the final appearance actually making the colour darker than you imagined. Of course the opposite is true of gloss finishes whereby they will reflect lioght and make your colours appear darker. Take a few days, try and find larger paint chips and attach them to the wall. See what the appearance and feel of the colours are during the day and evening before finally deciding. Then you are more likely to be happy with your decisions.
If you are truly trying to hold the paint colour for a long time as well as maintaining that freshly painted look, paint quality is a big part of the job. Trying to cut corners in the quality will make the job more difficult and the lasting effect of your work will be shortened.
